Autors: Helen Tobias- DuesbergThe Requiem, as a musical form, dates back to Medieval times. It was performed as a religious Mass for the soul of the deceased. Helen T. Duesberg wrote this Requiem in 1999, at a time when she mourning the loss of her beloved sister, and so the piece became a very personal requiem. The work was commissioned by the New York Estonian Women's Chorus, and so was originally written for women's voices. The composer later expanded the work and rewrote it for mixed chorus.
